Project Draco Mechanicus
In an effort to reinforce the air-defence of the Duchy I set out to
build a fast, manoeuvrable fighter as a counterpart to the overwhelming
force of vessels like the mighty Defenestration, my other duties as a
Knight meant I should have some kind of mount, so a flying golem seemed like
a good plan, plus dragons are fucking awesome. The chassis of the
dragon is based on the origami design below, i re-calculated the schematic
so that a similar folding pattern could be applied to sheet metal.

Stuff
-
Chassis - The chassis is both the simplest and the
most important essential part. It's in situ rewoven micro-fold
surface functions as extra armor, it contains all of the kinetic
accumulators which allow basic movement of limbs etc. Built in to the
design is the Glamour Ligature Energizing Articulation Manifold, the GLEAM
system allows simultaneous transfer of glamour along multiple bandwidths
between all modules.
-
Wings - while these are technically part of the
chassis, they are special on their own. The wings are a fully
articulated steel-Cavorite honeycomb composite. They operate in two
modes, the primary mode is that the wings flap as per Tethley Cob's paper,
Ornithation: A Modern Vision, using a modified version of dragon
pattern R6; in the secondary mode, the wings can be folded flat and
energised to provide direct lift, the design of the wing structure produces
ripples of energy across the wings, this mode is especially useful for
silent running and enclosed spaces..
-
Breath Weapon - I have included very little detail
here as my design principles will be familiar to you all. I am working
on incorporating a second energetic recycler in the induction manifold to
produce a supercharged (parallel) or twin-linked (series) model. Watch
this space.
-
Power Reservoir - One of Spreng's designs inspired
this device, I will submit it after speaking to her to resolve patent
issues. I have found a theoretical loophole which would allow a
carefully aligned array of the 'instantaneous glamour transfer components'
to be cross-linked, effectively short-circuiting the rematerialisation
stage, creating a virtually infinite extra-dimensional space.
There are still some buffer-issues to be resolved and a couple of infinities
which need cancelling on the theory, but this technology looks promising.
The various test apparatuses have all functioned within acceptable
parameters, with surprisingly low monad distortion/loss. This may have
something to do with the current low background count of sub-aetheric
flux, I will need to build more sensitive monitoring equipment to study this
further.
